Reflexology reduces stress and induces deep relaxation

We are faced with stress of one kind or another every day.  We do need a certain amount but when it is constant and you reach a point where you are starting to suffer because of it then it is starting to become harmful to us.  Our bodies’ defences break down and we become more vulnerable to illness and disease.  It has been estimated that over 85% of all illness is stress related.

Reflexology reduces the stress level over a period of time by inducing a very deep and restful relaxation.  This deep and peaceful state allows healing to take place which helps the body to recover and to reach a state of balance (homeostasis).

Reflexology improves circulation

It is important for blood to flow freely through out the body carrying oxygen and nutrients to all the cells and removing waste and toxins.  Stress and tension tighten up the blood vessels and restrict blood flow.  By reducing stress and tension reflexology allows the blood to flow more easily.

Reflexology cleanses the body of toxins and impurities

To stay healthy the body has to rid itself of waste.  The systems that are needed for this process are the kidneys, skin, colon and lymph nodes.  By deepening relaxation, reflexology causes all the systems in the body to function more efficiently, including those that eliminate waste.

Reflexology balances the whole system

For the body to be healthy everything must work together.  Good health depends on balance, equilibrium and the natural functioning of all the body systems.

Reflexology helps revitalise energy

To achieve a sense of well-being with plenty of vitality requires sufficient energy.  Energy flows through and around the body.  The Chinese call this force ‘chi’.  Chi flows through the body’s energy pathways (meridians).  Reflexology opens up the energy pathways allowing the subtle energy to do its work.  The seven energy centres known as charkas are unblocked; energy flows and the body, mind and spirit are brought back into balance.
